January 2014 Ipsy Bag
Hey guys! Here's a look at this month's Ipsy bag.For those of you who are unaware, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service, which sends 5-6 beauty samples each month. Anyway, on to the post:
This month's bag is actually pretty nice. I usually think they're ugly. It came with 5 samples, which include: MICA Beauty tinted lip balm, Briogeo hair mask, Nourish Organic face lotion, Elizabeth Mott smooth shadow eye pencil, and Proactiv+ mark fading pads.
First we have the MICA beauty tinted lip balm in #6 fiesta. It's a really nice mauve shade and is really pigmented. Pretty full color and not sheer like a balm product usually is. However, I must say that it is not the least bit moisturizing. It's actually rather drying and doesn't have good staying power. Fades quickly, but leaves a stain on the lips.
Next, we have the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep conditioning mask for hair. I haven't tried this yet, but it smells nice and I actually just dyed my hair, so I'll definitely be putting this to the test.
Next, we have Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion. I haven't tried this either (at least not on my face lol). However, it is very lightweight, perhaps best in the warmer months. It doesn't seem like it would be enough for my dry winter skin. It has a strange scent, kind of vegetable like. It's actually a little gross.
Next, we have the Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow pencil in Pearl. It's a nice shimmery champagne color. Not incredibly pigmented, but nice for an inner corner highlight. Reminds me a little of theBalm's MaryLou-Man-izer, but in pencil form.
Finally, we have the Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads. I have yet to try these, but I'm curious as to whether it's enough product to notice any difference.
Bottom Line: Great bag this month. Really enjoyed the selection of samples I received this month. I would definitely recommend subscribing especially since it's only $10/month.
